today, i went to victoria’s secret to look for pajamas… silly place, i know. but i looked online the other day and they had onesies! those pretty much seem like the comfiest things around.
unfortunately, they didn’t have any (figures.. kind of ruins the “sexy”). anyways! to the point.
there was this cheerful black woman with two of her precious daughters looking at the clearance bras....

my love-hate relationship with music
i can never listen to an entire song without skipping it because i am extremely picky when it comes to listening to music.
like right now, for instance. i’m looking through my library, hoping to find an (and i thought this out thoroughly in my head: that’s how specific i am) upbeat, acoustic song which still has a melodic background. although the song’s acoustic, it can’t...
letting my inner nerd shine
tumblr loves we’re doing a research paper in contemp lit and i am having trouble picking a theme/book! i’m interested in these:
the plague (death)
the sound and the fury (self/identity)
catcher in the rye (self/identity)
the five people you meet in heaven (not listed by stacey)
100 years of solitude (not listed by stacey)
help me pick a book pleeease! and i’m open to more...

i always thought you were someone who’d just smoke and drink all day, but i have began to change my definition of you after watching you talk in class.
it started out with the small things: how you bitterly commented on the competitiveness of lynbrook, how you criticized some of the curriculum we were learning in school, how you said that you’ve had experience living homeless. slowly...

“You know what’s wrong with you, Miss Whoever-You-Are? You’re chicken, you’ve got no guts. You’re afraid to stick out your chin and say, “Okay, life’s a fact, people do fall in love, people do belong to each other, because that’s the only chance anybody’s got for real happiness.” You call yourself a free spirit, a wild thing, and you’re terrified somebody’s going to stick you in a...

there’s always room for veggie snacks
i’m rewatching princess and the frog and i realize that these events can never happen in real life. i mean, tiana immediately looks amazing in that blue dress but if you think about it she has no makeup on, her hands are probably all roughed up from work, and she probably smells like the beignets she was catering a few minutes ago. but i still...

i just have to
so these black guys from duke added themselves into a bay area princeton facebook group and this is what i see happening:
the black guys start spamming the shit out of the group after one kid saw that the guys have duke listed as their colleges with just horrible grammar/spelling and cuss words and all around trolling. i was getting so frustrated because i hate seeing the red facebook...

In response to an earlier entry of mine, this post appeared on College Confidential:
You know, I get sick of college admissions officers saying how they couldn’t accept so many wonderful people. While it’s supposed to be comforting, obviously, I just find it really insincere. I mean, either you’re accepted or you’re not. There is no grey area… so they shouldn’t try...

i watched beauty and the beast today, so i am in the mood to post 5 disney-related facts about me!
i didn’t think beauty and the beast was that good :( the only song i liked from it was “beauty and the beast.” though i have to admit i like belle so much better than say sleeping beauty or snow white who didn’t do jack shit and just waited for their princes to rescue them

deep breaths, deep breaths. inhale, exhale, repeat and again. be the bigger person, let it go. forgive and forget. watch some stupid movie with mila kunis and some blue-eyed heartthrob, curl up to some chicken soup and a bag of flavor-blasted goldfish. jump into those argyle print knee-highs, roll into a snuggie, take a bubble bath. pick up a spiritual work here and there. write it all...

irrationality
what’s considered irrational? i’m assuming that everyone’s definition of irrationality is different, but it always boggles my mind when, for example, my mom yells at me for not knowing how to fill out her taxes when clearly i have not taken any accounting class in my life and had not even read the letter she received in the mail. i feel like i have changed a lot since summer...

tuesdays with morrie
“I heard a nice little story the other day,” Morrie says. He closes his eyes for a moment and I wait.
“Okay. The story is about a little wave, bobbing along in the ocean, having a grand old time. He’s enjoying the wind and the fresh air - until he notices the other waves in front of him, crashing against the shore.
“‘My God, this is terrible,’ the wave...

happy birthday 邱大同 my one-month older cousin! we grew up together essentially under the same roof and i still remember seeing a photo of us two in the bathtub together laughing. i also remember how we’d eat our hard-boiled eggs after kindergarten every day and i’d always be amazed at how you can tolerate eating those egg yolks. and with all the pressure you face in shanghai right now,...
